Spa Hair Treatments to Try at Home

There are several easy tricks spas use to get your limp locks looking beautiful and full of luster again. Most of the scalp and hair treatments that spas use are easy enough for you to use with products you can find in the store or make using things you already have at home. Here are four tricks spas use that you can do yourself at home to treat your hair and scalp. To Treat Dandruff: Dandruff is usually caused by a fungus and requires special treatments to really deal with the problem. Many spas use tea tree oil in their scalp treatments because it is a well known anti fungal. A little tea tree oil will quickly ease the flaking that accompanies dandruff and soothe the constant itchy feeling that can be more than annoying for sufferers. Place a few drops of tea tree oil on your fingers and massage into the scalp for a few minutes. Make sure you make contact with your scalp rather than covering your hair in tea tree oil. Rinse the scalp with warm water. You can also use products like Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Hair and Scalp Treatment instead of a tea tree massage.

To Control Frizzy Hair: Frizzy hair is generally caused by a lack of moisture and that can easily be remedied by the use of moisturizing products. There are several different moisture rich treatments that spas use in order to get your hair back in shape but almost always the treatment is followed by applying steam and a thorough rinse. Try finding a shampoo to use that has coconut, jojoba, or grape seed oil as an ingredient. If you want to replicate your spa experience you can also directly apply any of the mentioned oils directly to your scalp and massage into your head and hair. In order to remove the oil from your hair rinse with water and shampoo. To Regain Luster: Lack luster hair is a problem everyone deals with when their tresses have been exposed to the sun for too long or as a result of the products we use on them. Spas return your hair to the lush locks we love using a variety of mud massages and products that quickly restore shine. It may sound messy but you can do a mud treatment at home too. Sephora carries several different mud treatments for hair the best of which is Oscar Blandi Fango Marine Mud Treatment. Follow up the mud treatment with a nourishing grape seed oil treatment to add shine to dry and damaged hair. By Sophia Sanchez
